Marc Fabri chaired the session "Emotions in HCI: Theory, Synthesis and Evaluation" and gave the presentation of his paper "Emotionally Expressive Avatars for Chatting, Learning and Therapeutic Intervention". This paper was co-authored by Innovation North staff David Moore and Salima Y Awad Elzouki.

Reinhold Behringer chaired the session "Gesture Recognition" and gave a presentation of his paper "Gesture Interaction for Electronic Music Performance". He also presented the paper "Virtual and Mixed Reality Interfaces for e-Training: Examples of Applications in Light Aircraft Maintainance", where he was a co-author. The principal author Johannes Christian (Leeds Met) was unable to attend the conference.
